Frequently Asked Questions

What do I need to bring?

Just yourself! We provide towels, earplugs, and everything else you may need for your float.

How is the water kept clean?

The 1,000 lbs of epsom salt acts as a natural disinfectant. We also use hydrogen peroxide, ultraviolet filtration, and a unique Floataway filtration system that filters the salt water between each float session.

What if I’m claustrophobic?

People with claustrophobia consistently report no problems with floating. You can float with the doors open and lights on. You always have control of the environment.

What if I fall asleep?

Many people fall asleep, but the water is so buoyant, that you stay afloat.

Can two people float in one cabin?

We strongly believe everyone should have an opportunity to float. If there are special circumstances that would warrant two people in a cabin (i.e. a child floating with their parent or persons with disabilities who are interested in floating), please contact us directly so we can make the necessary arrangements.

What is the science behind it?

Floating has been around for over 60 years, with plenty of published research to back it up. The Laureate Institute for Brain Research has studies available for viewing on our website at
